Sheila Maissan

Born and raised in Britain, Sheila earned a Physics degree before spending two years teaching in West Africa where she met her future husband, a Canadian of Dutch descent. They lived in northern Ontario before moving to Yukon where they raised their two sons. Sheila has worked for the mining industry, volunteer organizations and government in technical and administrative capacities.

Sheila started at the Centre in October 2002. She is responsible for managing the production of YNLC print materials and in 2005 began building Audio Storybooks and other materials for this web site.
